Midwinter Night's Dream
New CD release by Mary Talbot Fee
"I love this CD. The music is outside of the box and Mary delivers so this is totally in the pocket for me. They did everything right on this and there are 4 or 5 cuts that I want to play. I'm totally impressed with the complete package and what a great voice!"

Mary Talbot Fee is a chanteuse style Jazz vocalist with a brand new CD Midwinter Night's Dream to be released on March 3rd, 2009. Mary's favorite tunes are those with haunting poetry, as well as the ones with rhythmic interest. Her flair for singing in various languages lends an international appeal to her music. It is difficult to tell what her native language really is while she intonates her way through selections in English, French, Portuguese and Italian. "I've always had a thing for languages", says Talbot Fee, "Each language changes the tenor or your thoughts slightly and I love to feel those differences when I sing".
For her latest CD album, a masterful ensemble backed her in the studio including Rob Whitlock (piano, accordion, Hammond B3 organ, keyboards), Trey Henry (acoustic bass), Cliff Almond (drums), Pat Kelley (guitars, mandolin), Luis Conte (percussion), Charlie Bisharat (violin) and John Rekevics (flutes, clarinet) along with a talented cast of singers that included Amber Whitlock and Kleber Jorge. The decidedly adult album serves up throwback standards and several originals written specifically for her debut. "Winter's Dream enters my slumber, stills my thoughts, and encourages me to rest, renew and restore for the coming year's journey," reflected Talbot Fee about her inspiration for the album. "It is in the lulls of life that we see most clearly what actions we must take."
